On the occasion of the Interalpin 2025 international trade fair, taking place in Innsbruck from May 6 to 8, OITAF (International Organization for Transportation by Rope) will also play a key role with a highly topical technical seminar.

OITAF Tackles Artificial Intelligence at Interalpin 2025 Signature x Interalpin 1

On the morning of May 7, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Kongresszentrum Innsbruck, Study Committee III – Electrotechnical Components of Ropeways – will host a session entitled:

“AI: Is the cable car world facing a structural break?”
(Artificial Intelligence: Is the ropeway world facing a structural shift?)

The seminar will address a topic that is both innovative and urgent: the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the ropeway sector. From engineering to operations, including the development of control and technical software, AI is increasingly transforming the industry. OITAF has chosen this occasion to reflect on the risks, opportunities, and future scenarios this transformation entails.

Speakers from France, Italy, Austria, and Switzerland will share their insights, real-world applications, and innovation perspectives. Simultaneous translation will be provided in Italian, German, English, and French.

OITAF – The International Organization for Transportation by Rope

Founded in 1959, OITAF is the world’s leading organization for the study, regulation, and technical advancement of ropeway systems. It brings together operators, manufacturers, regulatory authorities, and research institutions from around the globe, with the goal of promoting knowledge exchange and supporting the safe and sustainable development of the industry.

SEIK and OITAF: A longstanding collaboration

SEIK has been an active member of OITAF since the early 2000s. We actively participate in the annual congresses and closely follow the key topics shaping the future of our industry. We believe this year’s focus is particularly relevant: AI is no longer a technology of the future—it is already here, and we must learn how to understand it, integrate it, and manage its impact.

We warmly invite all our partners, clients, and industry colleagues not to miss this important opportunity for dialogue and exchange.
We look forward to seeing you at Interalpin 2025 – and at the OITAF seminar on May 7!
