Rope Dragger

Automation and continuous efficiency in sediment removal

Rope Dragger: automated technology for safe dredging operations

Rope Dragger is a system developed by SEIK specifically designed for the removal and extraction of alluvial deposits, as well as for cleaning reservoirs from sediments accumulated over time.

The solution is particularly suitable for waterways and reservoirs where the management of alluvial accumulation materials plays a fundamental role in maintaining hydraulic and environmental efficiency.

The system consists of two winches for the coordinated management of the carrying and hauling ropes, along with a bucket that is lowered into depth, collects the inert material, and transports it to the surface efficiently and in a controlled manner.

Fully automated, Rope Dragger ensures continuous, precise, and reliable operation, enabling effective sediment management even in complex or hard-to-access environments.

Rope Dragger advantages: automation and safety

  • Load safety: Dual braking system for maximum operational safety
  • Pull force monitoring: Two load cells for precise and continuous rope pulling force detection
  • Rope winding control: Lebus system and spring-loaded balancing arm with sensor for rope derailment detection
  • Brake monitoring: Sensors on each brake caliper for operational status monitoring
  • Control system: Fully automated system with no operator required

Rope Dragger: main applications

  • Hydroelectric reservoirs
Example: Sediment removal and restoration of usable storage capacity.
  • Dams and water basins
    Example: Management of alluvial deposits.
  • Irrigation and diversion channels
Example: Cleaning and maintenance of hydraulic flow.
  • Ports and inland docks
