The main advantages of the SEIK cableways are as follows: The load can be lowered or lifted during the longitudinal motion of the carriage. Rollers at the cable supports can guide the main line. Simple operation and direct steering from the ground allow difficult lifting and lowering manoeuvres to be carried out safely and precisely. Compared to material handling by helicopter the carrier can keep the load stablein any position for as long as necessary enabling work to go ahead without pressure of time. The cable crane can operate in rotational mode but it is capable of using gravity even in relatively flat terrain. The SEIK system can also be employed with curred tracks. The SEIK cable ways can be used with almost unlimited track lenghts; so that forest roads or other serious landscape changes often become unnecessry.
